Why Anti-Copy Matters on Academic Documents

A transcript is a text-heavy document — which makes it look deceptively simple to reproduce. A colour photocopier or scanner can produce a convincing visual replica of a plain letterhead. Anti-copy screen patterns — where the word "COPY" or a custom message appears across any reproduction while remaining invisible in the original — are one of the most cost-effective protections available on documents of this type, and we apply them as a standard feature.

Format: A4 (210 × 297 mm), portrait or landscape to specification. Design developed or adapted to the institution's requirements.

Security Paper

• grammage 95–150 gsm depending on document type;
• UV-dull paper — no base fluorescence, so UV security elements read cleanly;
• two-tone or multi-tone watermark (custom design) where specified;
• visible and/or invisible security fibres with UV fluorescence;
• chemical sensitivity (CBS-1) — reacts to acids, alkalis, bleaching agents and organic solvents.

Printed security elements

• secure design – guilloche frames and variable-thickness line grids; pseudo-relief (simulated emboss); variable-geometry guilloche grids; microtext;
• anti-copy and anti-scan protection — hidden message appears on any photocopy or scan, invisible in the original;
• UV-reactive inks — invisible in daylight, visible under ultraviolet light;
• thermochromic ink — disappears at body temperature, UV-fluorescent;
• bleach-reactive VOID feature — customised hidden message appears on contact with bleaching agents;
• taggant ink — UV-fluorescent, instrument-verified;
• photochromic ink — changes under light exposure.

Optical Variable Devices (OVD) & Hot-Stamping

• customised hologram, hot-stamped (22 × 29 mm or to specification, including circular formats up to 44 mm diameter): origination at minimum 250,000 dpi; possible effects — kinetic effects, rainbow effect, micro lettering, nanoimages with letter height 5 microns, nanosculpture, achromatic images;
• 3DSeal — three-dimensional optically variable security element option;
• demetallised foil elements.

Numbering

• letterpress serial numbering in security ink with UV fluorescence;
• "Number in Number" design available;
• sequential numbering to agreed range, from and to specified numbers.

Personalisation

Personalisation by digital printing in black ink, from the institution's database. Institution logo reproduced per approved design. All personalisation carried out on our own automated production line, within our secure facility, under annual independent audit by an EU-accredited certification body.
