A government customer or business entity placing an order for a secure document, smart card or cardboard packaging expects more than a finished product — they expect certainty that at each stage of production, control was real, not notional. That materials were counted and accounted for. That waste was destroyed, not resold. That personnel understood the weight of what they were doing.

At ZORYA SECURITY PRINTING, these obligations are operationalised in four certified management systems that work not in isolation, but as a single integrated framework.

Security & Regime Management System — ISO 14298 (Governmental Level)

In 2009, ZORYA became the first company in Ukraine to achieve certification under CWA 14641 (the European Committee for Standardisation’s agreement on Security Management Systems for Security Printing) at the highest level — «High Security Management System for Secure Printing». In 2015, again the first in Ukraine, ZORYA achieved certification against the international standard ISO 14298 «Graphic technology – Management of Security Printing Processes» at Governmental Level, awarded by INTERGRAF. Annual audits are conducted by an independent certification body in the Netherlands, VPGI.

ISO 14298 is not a checklist of document requirements. It is a system governing how personnel access materials, how every unit of raw material is counted and logged, how access zones are designated, how visitors and vehicles are registered, and how waste is destroyed. In practice, this means 24/7 security guards on-site, a full CCTV and access control system, tamper-evident packaging for all shipments, and criminal background checks for every new member of staff.

Quality Management — ISO 9001

Quality at ZORYA means consistency: from raw material selection through technical parameters to final packaging for delivery. The ISO 9001 system defines how each stage is controlled, who is responsible for any deviation, and how the system learns from problems rather than repeating them.

In practice:

• 100% inspection of finished products before shipment;
• full account of every unit of raw material from receipt to use;
• documentation of every issue found and every solution applied;
• continuous improvement based on data, not guesswork.

Environmental Management — ISO 14001

Secure printing, plastic cards and cardboard packaging use significant quantities of inks, solvents, paper, plastic and electricity. ISO 14001 defines how ZORYA measures and reduces its environmental impact — from switching to water-based inks to press optimisation to reduce waste. Concrete annual targets, measured and reported.

Food Safety Management — ISO 22000

ZORYA’s origins lie in flexible and cardboard packaging production for the food and pharmaceutical industries — a business line that continues today. ISO 22000 governs the procedures necessary for food safety assurance. But the culture of precise, unhurried control developed for food manufacturing has been embedded across the entire operation — applied to materials, personnel and secure printing processes with equal rigour.

How They Work Together

Four certifications, one system. ISO 14298 sets security protocols and access control. ISO 9001 embeds quality at every step. ISO 14001 minimises waste and environmental impact. ISO 22000 ensures the culture of precision and accountability is built into every procedure. The customer receives not four separate guarantees, but a single integrated process, independently audited each year.
