Driving Licence

ZORYA SECURITY PRINTING produces driving licence cards for government licensing authorities. Cards are manufactured in ID-1 format, compliant with ISO 7810, the ISO/IEC 18013 series (driving licence-specific standards) and other relevant international standards.

Every card is tested in-house against the technical specification and the card life-cycle profile defined by ISO 24789 and ISO 10373.

Driving licences can be equipped with a modern, secure contactless chip (IC) meeting the highest security requirements of Common Criteria EAL6+, with the option to support mobile driving licence (mDL) functionality in line with ISO/IEC 18013-5. Card design reflects national symbols, culture and heritage.

The card body comes from our own PROOFLEX™ family of substrates — PETG RFX, PETG-PC composite and PVC. We choose the material for the life of the document: a standard ten-year driving licence and a temporary permit are not the same job. Everything happens on one site — design and origination, printing, lamination, hot-stamping, secure serialisation and numbering, QC.

Security is layered into the substrate, the print and the personalisation:

• guilloche patterns, microtext and anti-copy screens;
• security inks (UV, IR, micro taggants) and colour-shifting inks;
• individual numbering, a machine-readable zone and a 1D/2D barcode for rapid roadside verification;
• holographic laminates and AMALGRAM optically variable elements;
• OS initialisation and data protection inside the contactless chip.

Card structure can be customised to specific requirements — laser engraving, retransfer colour personalisation, UV inkjet and other techniques.

We support both established national driving licence specifications and the development of a customised document for a new licensing programme — from design and security feature selection to production and personalisation.

We support our customers with the supply of the necessary personalisation equipment — high-resolution retransfer printers and laminators, laser engraving systems etc, as well as necessary secure consumables (secure laminates, ribbons).
