Official ID Cards & Credentials for Government Authorities

An official ID card does one job: it tells the person on the other side of the barrier — the guard, the clerk, the border officer — that the holder is who they say they are and has the authority they claim. When that card can be forged, the entire access and authentication system it supports becomes unreliable.

ZORYA SECURITY PRINTING produces official ID cards and credential documents for government ministries, law enforcement agencies, judicial bodies, social protection authorities, healthcare systems, electoral commissions and other issuing institutions. Cards are manufactured in ID-1 format to ISO/IEC 7810, with layered security features that make counterfeiting detectable and personalised data tamper-evident.

Each document type is produced to the national technical specification of the issuing authority, or to a custom specification developed together with the client.

Card Format & Materials

Cards are manufactured in ID-1 format (85.6 × 54 mm) to ISO/IEC 7810. Card body from our own PROOFLEX™ family of substrates — PETG RFX, PETG-PC composite and PVC — selected to match the document’s service life: a ten-year national ID card and a three-year service pass are not the same job.

Security Features

Security is layered into the substrate, the print and the personalisation:

Substrate:

• PROOFLEX™ PETG RFX, PETG-PC composite or PVC card body;
• UV-dull material — no base fluorescence.

Printed security elements:

• guilloche patterns, microtext (positive from 200 microns, negative from 250 microns);
• rainbow (iris) printing — fine continuous line grid impossible to reproduce commercially;
• anti-copy screen — hidden message appears on any photocopy or scan, invisible in the original;
• colour-shifting ink (optically variable) — changes colour under different viewing angles;
• UV-reactive inks — invisible in daylight, visible under ultraviolet light;
• IR-reactive inks — detectable by infrared readers.

Optical Variable Devices (OVD) & Holographic Elements:

• holographic laminate or hot-stamped hologram — customised design, origination at minimum 250,000 dpi;
• AMALGRAM optically variable elements;
• kinetic effects, micro lettering, nanoimages with letter height 5 microns, nanosculpture, achromatic images, Anymotion feature.

Personalisation:

• colour retransfer thermal printing at 600 dpi — full-colour front, monochrome reverse;
• laser engraving option for highest tamper resistance;
• individual serial numbering in security ink.

Contactless chip (optional):

• one or more contactless chip modules to ISO/IEC 14443 Type A;
• chip meeting Common Criteria EAL6+ security requirements;
• OS initialisation and data protection;
• supported platforms: NXP MIFARE™ Classic, MIFARE™ Plus, NXP NTAG — and higher-security government-grade chips to specification;
• for access control applications: EM Microelectronic EM-Marine™ (EM4100, EM4200).

Protective Lamination

After personalisation, protective lamination is applied across the full surface of both sides. The laminate carries semi-transparent artistic and security elements at three levels — overt, covert and forensic — making any attempt to alter personalised data immediately visible. Laminate options include holographic, kinetic and custom OVD designs.

Full Production Cycle

Card design and origination, substrate production, offset and screen printing, laser engraving, personalisation, chip initialisation, lamination, quality control and delivery — all on one production site, under annual independent audit by an EU-accredited certification body.

We support both established national ID card specifications and the development of a customised credential document for a new identification programme — from design and security feature selection through to production, personalisation equipment, consumables and software for local integrators.
