Postgraduate Student ID Cards

A postgraduate student carries their ID card every day — to the university library, the research lab, the security gate. A card that fades, cracks or stops reading at the access terminal is not a minor inconvenience: it disrupts work and reflects on the institution that issued it.

ZORYA SECURITY PRINTING produces postgraduate student ID cards — also known in different countries as PhD student cards, doctoral candidate cards or researcher identification cards — in ID-1 format, compliant with ISO/IEC 7810 and, for chip-enabled cards, ISO/IEC 14443 Type A.

Cards are manufactured from high-quality, wear-resistant materials tested in independent laboratories in Europe and the USA — the same grades used by governments worldwide for driving licences and national ID cards.

Security & Quality

• print resolution from 600 ppi, with durable photo and text reproduction;
• semi-matt protective lamination on both sides — a layer of semi-transparent artistic and security elements protecting personalised data against alteration;
• security features at three levels: overt (visible), covert (instrument-verified) and forensic;
• microtext within laminate from 50 microns;
• mechanical integrity and readability guaranteed for the full service life of the card.

Personalisation

Cards are personalised by colour retransfer thermal printing at 600 dpi. Standard fields include: photo, full name, series and card number, issue date and expiry date, institution name, faculty or department, study form, head of institution's title, name and signature. Layout and branding are customised to each institution's requirements.

Contactless Chip Options

One or more contactless chip modules can be embedded in the card to ISO/IEC 14443 Type A, enabling use across multiple systems with a single card:

• campus access control (ACS) and attendance tracking;
• library management systems;
• public transport fare payment (AFC/ASOP);
• canteen and payment systems.

Multiple chip modules of different types can be embedded in a single card — allowing it to work simultaneously in systems that use different chip platforms, without the need for separate cards.
